Are you my Isaac
or my Regina?
one given back
one gone forever
it feels sadistic
this giving over
of what you love
to become better
the leap of faith
escapes reason
I can’t explain
but I find meaning
And yet I’m holding up my knife
Still hoping for the ram to arrive
or my Regina?

Remind me who Regina is again? Maybe I can do a book about her too.
You're so funny. She's not biblical. She's historical. I was being intentionally cryptic. Regina Olsen. Kierkegaard wrote about her in Fear and Trembling when he wrestled through the story of Abraham and Isaac. She was his sacrifice.
